NEWLY LAUNCHED FENIX FILM & TELEVISION SNAGS SUPER CHANNEL DEVELOPMENT DEAL

 

Fenix Film & Television’s first feature-length project has snagged a development deal with Edmonton-based broadcaster, Super Channel. While details of the project remain confidential, Fenix founder and Chief Executive Officer, Kaitlan Stewart, says “it’s an untold true Canadian story that will surprise viewers and remind … We couldn’t be more excited by Super Channel’s endorsement of the project and look forward to working closely with them as it progresses”.  Super Channel’s CEO, Don MacDonald adds, “it is an undeniable story that captured our attention right away. We are happy to have secured a first-look deal and look forward to seeing the project come together.”

 

Kaitlan Stewart will serve as Writer/Producer, with Camille Beaudoin (Mosaic Entertainment) and Dylan Pearce (Northern Gateway) acting as Executive Producers throughout development, as well as Ian Barr as Story Editor. “I have a great team around me.  Each one of them has been a great mentor and supporter of me and my career over the years.  I can’t think of a better group of people to take this next step with”. Pending further development, Stewart hopes to see the project go to camera in late 2020 or early 2021, with a potential release in late 2021.

 

Fenix’ development announcement comes on the heals of the company’s recent launch. “Like most things that seem to happen overnight, there’s been a lot of hours put in to get the company up and running and many near successes,” says Stewart. “I’m proud of the strides we’ve made. We have a number of exciting projects in our development slate and I’m optimistic about what the future will bring for the company.”
